How long does one season take?
About ten minutes. One game is one season, from the first skrei landing in January to the grading table in June.
Why is my deck different from yesterday's?
Each fishing village deals a fresh deck every day, so the day's cards are the same for everyone who plays that village, but change again tomorrow. Playing a season you've already graded that day again is a practice run and does not count toward your streak.
How does grading work?
When the racks come down, the vraker grades every pair from Ragno and Westre Piccolo down to Afrika, and the grading shed explains, pair by pair, exactly why — how it hung, what weather it saw, how dry it got.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Hjellsesong works fully offline and makes no network connections at all.
How do I unlock new villages?
Grade seasons to earn career points. Each new village along the Lofoten chain unlocks at a career point total, shown on its postcard in the Villages screen.
Can I reset my progress?
Yes. Open Settings and choose "Erase logbook and progress." This removes every saved season, merit and record from your device. It cannot be undone.
What happens to a photo I take for a card back?
It's converted on your device into a two-tone image and stored only inside the app. It is never uploaded anywhere — see our privacy policy for details.
